What 33 businesses charge
We read the pricing pages of 33 bin cleaning businesses across 19 states, from Florida to Washington, and priced every one at 2 bins so they compare fairly. Where a business priced per bin, we doubled it. Where the base price covered 1 bin, we added their extra-bin price.
| Service (2 bins) | Median | Typical range | Businesses |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-time clean | $70 | $60–$90 | 28 |
| Monthly (every 4 weeks), per visit | $30 | $25–$35 | 30 |
| Every other month, per visit | $35 | $30–$45 | 19 |
| Quarterly, per visit | $45 | $38–$50 | 29 |
| Extra bin on a plan | $10 | $5–$12 | 27 |
| Extra bin on a one-time clean | $13.50 | $10–$22 | 24 |
Notice the pattern: a one-time clean costs about twice a monthly visit. That's on purpose. The first clean of a dirty bin takes longer, and a higher one-time price makes the monthly plan the obvious choice.
Prices by region

| Mountain West (ID, AZ) | $30 | 4 |
| California | $40 | 3 |
How businesses set up their plans
- 2 bins included. 23 of the 32 residential businesses bundle up to 2 bins, or price 1 and 2 bins separately, then charge about $10 for each extra.
- A short minimum. A 3-visit minimum on recurring plans was the most common rule. A few use 12-month agreements with a $25 to $75 early cancellation fee.
- First-clean deals. Some offer 50% off the first clean to win a monthly customer. A couple charge the one-time price if someone cancels right after the first visit.
- Prepay discounts of 5 to 10% for paying ahead.
- Add-ons are uncommon and small: an upgraded deodorizer ($3), pest spray ($4), towel drying ($10), dumpster pad cleaning ($25 a pad). Some include deodorizer at no charge.
How much to charge for dumpster cleaning
Most businesses quote commercial work job by job; only four of the 33 publish dumpster prices. Those four charged $150 to $500 for a one-time dumpster clean, about $150 for monthly service and $225 to $250 for quarterly service, per dumpster. Expect to need hot water and more insurance for this work.
How to pick your own price
- Look up 3 to 5 bin cleaners near you and write down their prices.
- Price your monthly plan near the local middle. Being the cheapest isn't a plan; you'll just do more work for less.
- Set your one-time price at roughly twice your monthly visit.
- Check your costs with the profit calculator. If the numbers don't work at the local price, change your costs, not your price.
- Show the price everywhere: flyers, your bio and your booking page.
About other price guides: some sites still repeat prices around $20 for a one-time clean. One we found is built on reader comments from 2016, and its prices are well below what businesses charge today.
